Your Midtown Summer Fling

Park Avenue Summer Opens

The heat. The thunder showers. The lingering humidity you wish the rain would’ve washed away.

It’s another New York summer.

But this week the new season brings more than old weather patterns, as Park Avenue Summer opens. The Smith & Wollensky-operated restaurant will reinvent itself each season to hold the attention span of your fickle palate.

To set the stage for each seasonal menu, the design team behind Quality Meats, AvroKO will change the restaurant’s decor and ambiance. Lighting, uniforms, graphics and even furniture fabric take on a different personality every few months.

Summer flavors (also from a Quality Meats alum, executive chef Craig Koketsu) will include Prosciutto & Melon (pictured), Soft Shell Crab with Avocado and Strawberry, and John Dory with Summer Truffles and Brioche-Crusted Poached Egg.

There will be seasonal tastings too (one Summer session will be devoted solely to local corn). And the quarterly changes also apply for wines and mixers at the vodka/champagne bar.

Be sure to splurge with your fling and stay for dessert. Or, return for another tryst with the roasted peaches with crisp corn pudding, and the fresh peppermint warm custard.

Just be sure to get your fill of the menu, and the scenery, before the leaves start to turn.

Park Avenue Summer opens Thursday (6/7).
