A Step Ahead

The fact that you live in Manhattan makes you a revolutionary. You make your own decisions, you don’t back down on your opinions, and you don’t need someone to tell you whether you should indulge in trans fats.

Evan Frost and Angela Salvatore fit that bill, and like you, they’re sick of the velvet ropes, Hip Hop soundtracks, and glorified dorm cocktails that currently dominate nightlife. 3Steps, their new speakeasy reminiscent cocktail lounge, housed in a former Gramercy apartment, renounces all of that.

House cocktails like the signature cucumber infused Cosmo or blackberry mint Margarita draw crowds from all over. But at heart, 3Steps is a classy neighborhood establishment encouraging patrons to experience superior cocktails, wines, and beers in an all-inclusive environment. Not to be too staid though, you’ll rock out to the Doors, Flock of Seagulls, and Duran Duran.

The bright crystal chandelier glowing in the front window serves as a trademark beacon, while the butcher-block bar is 3Steps’ centerpiece. Further back lays the carpeted “living room,” where two conveniently hidden black leather couches make for the ultimate make-out hideaway.

Nice to know somebody’s thinking three steps ahead of the game these days.
