Shell ShockedBlack Pearl Opens Monday, January 29, 2007 Your eating patterns are pretty simple: a little gastro-pub, some designer steaks, and a killer lobster roll every few weeks. To keep your crustacean cravings satisfied, the crew behind Black Pearl have moved and expanded to much larger quarters in Chelsea. Black Pearl’s charm carries over to this red, yellow, and wood finished space that feels as big as a Sam’s Club compared to the former digs. But the surroundings aren’t all that’s expanded: An incredible raw bar (oysters are chosen daily from over 70 types), lobster bisque spiked with Sherry and saffron, overflowing Lobster Rolls (the best we’ve ever sampled), Bouillabaisse, Maine Lobster Pot Pie, and many other dishes now accompany fantastic Boston Fish ‘n’ Chips. Because these guys really want you to enjoy yourself, they’ve stocked the bar with 23 beers, 29 martinis, and 20 wines by the glass. The real fun begins on Tuesday’s Lobster Nights, where $15.95 gets you a 1-1 ¼ lb. lobster with drawn butter, “Perfect Fries”, and coleslaw. |
