This venue is now closed.
Sometimes, you really don’t care about the French technique, the prep time, or the premium ingredients.
You just want rich, flavorful French food.
When the crave for coq au vin hits you, hit Charolais, the brand new bistro from Simon Oren and Chef Philippe Roussel (Marseille, Nice Matin, Café d’Alsace). Charolais is named after a famous village in Burgundy, France.
The village is also the source of inspiration for the tasty fare that’s offered at the restaurant. Sure, there’s Steak Frites on the menu but it’s the rich, delicious stews that delight: Coq Au Vin (Classic Chicken Stew) with pearl onions, mushrooms, bacon, mashed potato, Boeuf Bourguignon Beef Stew with Yukon gold potatoes, carrots, pearl onions and mushrooms, and Quenelles de Brochet with jumbo shrimp, asparagus, sugar snap peas, and sorrel sauce.
Naturally, there’s also an excellent wine list sourced from the Burgundy region (highly regarded for their flavor) and a great list of exotic Belgian beers, too.
And, then there’s dessert! Go for the Gâteau de Crêpes (Crêpes Gâteau filled with crème légère served with passion fruit coulis) or the Figues Fraîches Rôtis (Black Mission Figs roasted with Crème de Cassis et Bourgogne Rouge, home made cinnamon ice cream).
Your crave: satisfied.
Charolais opens today (7/19).
