The newest and best Southern-style joint to hit Times Square (and Manhattan) was cooked up by Jon Bloostein, the man behind Heartland Brewery. Having mastered beers and complementary fare, comfort food was a natural choice. His menu starts with spicy popcorn shrimp and mini burgers smothered in chopped onions and pickles on potato rolls. Feast forward with tender slices of slow-smoked brisket, chicken fried steak, smoked maple cured pork loin, and barbeque chicken. Finish with chocolate pecan pie and, of course, fresh-brewed Heartland beer. Unless, of course, you want the full-on bar effect. For that, you’ll have to walk next door. |
