Kentucky Fried Flow

It's finger-lickin’ good on both coasts

Kentucky Fried Flow

Charles' Southern Style Kitchen and Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffles

Chicken-N-Beer.

That’s what it’s all about on Super Sunday.

So we hit the road in search of the greasiest, finger-lickin’ good fried chicken for your carnal pleasure.

The Best of the East
Harlem is home to the best fried chicken in New York City. That’s because Harlem is home to Charles’ Southern Style Kitchen. Charles brought his grandma’s recipes from North Carolina and has been churning out the most delicious, pan-fried chicken you can imagine. Don’t look for a lot of ambience but this Southern comfort food is the real deal. Look for Charles’ second restaurant on Broadway and 101st in March.
Charles’ Southern Style Kitchen, 2841 Frederick Douglass Blvd, (212) 926-4313.

If Uptown is not your flavor, we suggest Jezebel in Midtown. Jezebel is the luxe of the lot - even the bathrooms are majestic. We devoured the most expensive free-range fried chicken ever! All in all, the food and service were fabulous but a little pricey.
Jezebel, 630 Ninth Avenue, (212) 582-1045, jezebelny.com.

The Best of the West
Angelenos have the overall best fried chicken joint. I mean how can you argue with Scoe’s fried chicken and cinnamon waffles with whipped butter and syrup? You can’t! Los Angeles’ Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles is the source for Southern and sinfully good, greasy food. It’s also been the set for Pulp Fiction and Swingers.
Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles, 2 locations: 1514 N. Gower Street, Hollywood, (323) 466-7453, & 5006 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, (323) 934-4405.

Enjoy!
