Now, all you need for the big game is some premium beef: burger style.

Enter Stand, Jonathan Morr’s (Bond St, Republic, APT) month-old designer burger joint, located just off University Place in the Central Village. Here meat is the main attraction: especially the Mushroom Beef Burger, a whopping 7 oz. patty sandwiched between a Pain d’Avignon roll, smothered with porcini mushroom sauce and onion marmalade, and the no bun, Chopped Steak Beef topped with onion marmalade, crispy shallots, and a red wine reduction. Sides include mashed sweet potatoes with butter and parmesean shavings and golden fries.

Outstanding drinks complement the menu: try the Il Laboratorio del Gelato shakes (go for pumpkin or ricotta pistachio), the Lemon & Basil Frappé, or their homemade ginger ale or blackberry soda.
Cocktails and twenty regional beers (Smuttynose Pumpkin Ale, anyone?) round out your drinking options.

Late lunchers will love the burger & beer combo, only $12 from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., daily.
