A Cut Above

L’Atelier de Frédéric

When it comes to your hair, you don’t mess around. That $50 monthly supply of Phyto hair vitamins and weekly conditioning treatments are as essential to your grooming regimen as brushing your teeth. So, for this New Year, only the best will do for your new haircut.

Isolated around the corner from the deafening chorus of blow dryers and buzzing telephones of the sprawling Frédéric Fekkai salon on the fourth floor of Henri Bendel awaits L’Atelier de Frédéric, a small and luxurious temple dedicated solely to the art of men’s grooming. The four-seat, white-tiled salon recalls a bygone barbershop, and is outfitted with flatscreen televisions and men’s magazines to maximize the enjoyment of your service.

Fekkai created this special space for his male clientele so they could sit back, relax and not feel so self-conscious among the gabbing ladies who lunch in the adjacent salon. The Hairmaster (that would be Frédéric) has instilled his trust in Dominick, whose dual training in hair styling and barber shop cutting give the young stylist a sharp edge when defining the perfect look for your head.

Berdgorf’s can have their blondes, as long as Bendel’s has L’Atelier de Frédéric.
